Hallo! It's Stermes from BLG.na! It's one of those days again where I'm being forced to review patches by Deamon (Been to lazy/busy for a while to do it). So here it is! My thoughts and opinions on patch 0.1.1403.
Warning! This is my opinion, and only that!
New God: Aphrodite!
The first real Support god in this game. My thoughts? Love her skill set, but I feel she is slightly underwhelming. She has a very low starting hp pool, so it's easy to pick on her early. Oh by the way.. DEM JUGS!
Loving Embrace (Passive)
Review: The passive allows my lane partner to spam skills as much as he/she wants to. It works with blue buff when Aphrodite has it. So it gives a ton of extra mana regen.
Review: This skill pretty much ties her whole skill set together. Without this, she wouldn't work. I'm able to give a permanent speed buff to my lane partner and then give him/her a damage buff with a small stun when I hit an enemy. Do I see any issues with this skill? Nope, not really.
Review: It does the most damage out of any of Aphrodite's skills while adding some extra utility. Scaling at 60% of your magical power it does hurt quite a bit. It's slightly lackluster when you kiss a ranged God, and no one goes near him/her. Other than that, no issues.
Review: I love the animation of this skill. Being able to send a bunch of Doves(which I like to call pigeons) to attack everything in their path feels amazing. However animation aside, I believe that the skill itself is lacking. For one the damage on it is barely anything come mid-late game. Which I understand the skill isn't meant for damage, but it's just something I notice. It's to hard for me to be able to support multiple people with the heal because it only heals the person that I'm tethered to with my kiss. Not to mention that heal takes 3 seconds for the full thing to go off. Usually I see my carry get bursted down by the 3rd tick of the heal.
What I propose, is that instead of only being able to heal your soulmate, it can heal multiple allies if it hits them, and adds a small protection bonus to your soulmate.
Review: Aphrodite's ultimate. It's pretty much like carrying around a free beads and aegis for whoever she is tethered with and herself. I can't see anything wrong with this skill.
Consumables show on the in-game scoreboard.
Review: YES! I can finally see if my enemy has 5 hp pots and just plans on spamming the hell out of them in lane! Great change adds to the aspect of knowing what your enemy has.
Line of Sight Fixed on Wards
Review: This makes me sad. I can no longer place my ward in fire giant and see the whole area around it. It is no longer benefical to place a ward inside the red buff area to get vision of the map. It's a great balance change by Hi Rez. Let the battle of Wards begin!
Health bar of Fire Giant/Gold Fury/Towers/Pheonix
Review: Great new health bar on objectives. I can finally see the health and without guessing see that they are below 10% hp and hog them.
Review: Great new effects on him. However, I still don't know how he managed to get screwed up and double proc his Flame Wave. But thank goodness it's fixed. I can finally see him in tournaments again!
Review: FINALLY! This has been an issue for me since I started to play Ares as one of my main Gods. I no longer have to worry about not getting my second/third chains.
Changing Tides(Passive) The bonus scaling is now Linear. I don't know why it was quadratic in the first place, but good to know it's changed to Linear.
Tidal Surge Doesn't change much in my opinion. The skill is still so slow and small that you can barely hit it.
TridentNot many complaints here. Helps him keep his passive up.
Whirlpool The pull in was so little before that you could walk out of it. It's a lot better now as a form of cc.
Release the Kraken! Increased the damage slightly. Not a bad change.
Review: So his beam only hits once now. Honestly not sure what to think of this. The double/triple beam was one of the many things that kept Ra on par with other Mage gods. With his recent heal nerf and this. I can't see him being played that often any more in competitive play.
